The current reported unemployment rate nears 9%. The number of underemployed workers in the United States is well over 20%. There is no sign of these disheartening numbers going down anytime soon. The economic and fiscal policies of the current administration virtually assure that these numbers will, at best, remain the same and, at worst, skyrocket to levels not seen since the Great Depression.
Since government interference and political buffoonery in the free market does nothing but hamper any chance of an economic recovery an alternative solution, possibly considered a drastic solution by some, is obviously necessary.
Consider this: In 1950 only about one in three women participated in the labor force. Today, 75% of women participate in the labor market. They actually account for about half of the total U.S. labor force.
Therein lies the problem, my friends. Working women.
To immediately solve the current unemployment crisis it is up to men to take a stand and do what is right for the country. Make your women stay home! By immediately removing 70 million women from the workforce there is no longer a shortage of jobs. There would then be more than enough jobs to go around for every working age male in the country.
What, you may ask, would all of those women be doing if they were not in the labor force? They would be doing traditional woman things, of course. They would occupy their time by cooking, cleaning, laundering, birthing, caring for children, attending PTA meetings, grocery shopping and all those other things that the June Cleaver in every woman is just aching, deep down, to do.
It is actually quite unfair of men to dampen the stay-at-home fire that we all know burns in the hearts of all women. Sure, they will put on a brave face and pretend that they want to work – they may even go so far as to laughably demand it as their right!
Men, do not be deceived – they do not really want this. Just so that we do not appear to be unenlightened chauvinists, we must assure them that not only are women permitted in the workforce but they are actually encouraged to participate in it. Men want young, single women fully engaged in traditional female workforce roles such as nurses, grade school teachers, airline stewardesses and waitresses right into their mid 20’s. When the women marry and move into their prime child bearing years then they must accept the fact they are now burdening society by remaining in the workplace and should immediately depart from it.
The unemployment problem would then be solved and there would be no more of this nonsense about men and women being equal, the family unit would be strengthened by having stay-at-home moms once again, rap music would forever disappear and there would be a warm plate of cookies waiting for the breadwinner every evening when he comes home from work.
It’s just a suggestion.
